Aluminium Secondary Manufacturers Association is a registered society and incorporated with the Registrar of Societies, Delhi on 8.11.2016 by the initiative of 14 members as industrial promoters representing the MSME sector of secondary aluminium manufacturers.

Jindal Aluminium Limited was the key driving force and guide for the creation of ASMA.  However there was equally support from other key members also without which the existence of ASMA not be imagined. The platform of the Aluminium Association of India (AAI) was misused by the primary producers to protect the interest of the primary aluminium industry at the cost of the secondary aluminium industry. Hence, the need arose to create a new platform and ASMA came into existence, to fight for the cause of the secondary aluminium industry. This industry encompasses alloy ingots flat-rolled products, cables and conductors and utensil manufacturers throughout the length and breadth of the country. In a short span of 5 years, this association now represents 3500 secondary aluminium manufactures and today most of the policy decisions in the aluminium industry are being taken by these ministries and departments in discussion and consultation with our association.  The members of the association include the manufacturers of downstream aluminium products.
